The return in Bianconero

After being inactive for basically one season, the coach was “courted” again by the Old Lady and in the 2001-2002 season he came back to lead the White-Blacks.

Although history teaches that most returns end up in failure, Marcello Lippi’s comeback was completely different.

As a matter of fact, he won another Scudetto in his first year – and right at the expense of Inter, – and during his second year, in addition to his second consecutive Scudetto, he managed to reach his fourth Champions League final, unfortunately lost against Milan after the penalty shoot-out. Beyond all that, he added two more Supercoppa Italiana.

The 2003-2004 season showed a great start by Juventus, together with Milan, but the team lost points in the long term, thus ranking third at the end of the Championship. And so Lippi’s “second chapter” in Bianconero came to an end, but a new glorious one with Azzurri was about to open!
